Initiative d'un groupe de Grecs, qui vivent et travaillent à Bruxelles, et qui visent à informer le public belge des luttes actuelles en Grèce et de créer une vraie solidarité entre les luttes qui ont lieu dans notre pays natal et celles de notre 'deuxième' patrie.
A member of the Solidarity Initiative to the Greek people participated in a debate during the event "12 hours for Greece", on 9 May, alongside Neoliberal pro-austerity figures like MEP Jorgo Chatzimarkaκis and Nikos Yannis, a Commission official.
We reminded the audience of the destruction EU policies have caused in Greece (reduction of life expectancy, increase of infant mortality, doctors and teachers beyond the poverty line, hunger, sell-out of public property, State violence against left-wing opposition) and we made clear that, whoever "worries" about the state of democracy in Greece but doesn't demand the immediate cancelation of the loan agreement and the Memorandum, is just fooling people. Interestingly, other panellists were content to espouse political rhetoric or promote themselves, seemingly out of touch with the reality of the situation.
We also pointed out the contradictions of the event:
"There's a contradiction in the '12h for Greece' event. It is sponsored by the Greek International Business Association and corporations like Aegean and Intrasoft. Last year it was supported by the Greek government, too, through its embassy.
So the same people who promote and apply the policies leading to the radical impoverishment of Greek people are now organising charity for poor kids in Greece.
Bertold Brecht said: "Those who take the meat from the table teach contentment."
The sponsors and organisers of this event support the salary and budget cuts.
Now they are like the executioners that take care of their victims.
As long as we consider unthinkable to default on bankers or governments that imposed odious conditions, but we consider it normal to cut on pensions of 500 euros, weird ironies like today's event will continue to be produced. As long as we don't direct our political activity against the richest 1%, this ruling class will continue exploiting the world.

La fête nationale grecque, le 25 mars, commémore la révolution des Grecs contre l'Empire Ottoman déclenchée en 1821. La Communauté grecque de Bruxelles a organisé une la cérémonie par à l'occasion de la fête nationale à la ''maison du peuple" à St. Gilles.
Une équipe de ZIN TV a mené une enquête journalistique en posant la question: la Grèce est-elle encore libre aujourd'hui? Ou encore: Kolokotronis, célèbre révolutionnaire de 1821 serait-il aujourd'hui du coté du gouvernement ou des manifestants?
Les habitants du quartier ont été aussi interroger pour voir ce qu'ils pensent de la situation grecque et quelles parallèles ils font avec la situation de la Belgique.
"Le Piège de Dublin" interroge politiciens, intellectuels, militants, immigrés et extrémistes afin de comprendre comment des mesures d'austérité, combinées à une vague migratoire sans précédent et un système de rapatriement européen inéquitable connu sous le nom de Dublin II, engendrent des tensions raciales, une montée du nationalisme et une crise humanitaire aux frontières extérieures de l'Europe.

« Dans les rues d'Athènes ont éclaté les pires émeutes et violences policières qu'a connues le pays depuis des années ». « Les émeutiers grecs ont mis le feu à des immeubles et pillé des dizaines de magasins alors qu'ils affrontaient la police dans le centre d'Athènes protestant contre de sévères mesures d'austérité».
Voici quelques échantillons des titres de la grande presse mondiale au sujet des manifestations de dimanche en Grèce, incluant souvent des photos d'immeubles calcinés.
« Je suis vraiment désolé de ce qui s'est produit en Grèce hier » m'ont dit beaucoup d'amis le lundi. Il est sidérant de constater que la grande presse parvient à vous faire ressentir un sentiment de ce type au sujet de la résistance et non des politiques désastreuses qui sont à l'origine de la protestation. Car la véritable nouvelle, c'est que les gens partout en Grèce ont rompu avec la peur et ont manifesté massivement leur détermination à contre-attaquer face à l'austérité imposée par la « troïka » composée de la Commission européenne, de la Banque centrale européenne et du FMI. De toutes les manifestations géantes qui ont eu lieu depuis mai 2010 quand les plans d'ajustement furent introduits pour la première fois, ce fut la plus massive : Des centaines de milliers de personnes ont participé, les lignes de métro étant incapables de faire face.

Un évenement de solidarité aux 400 grévistes des "Aciéries Grecques' a été organisé par le Comité Action Europe de St. Gilles avec le soutien de l'Initiative. Le Comité d'Action Europe Saint-Gilles a invité les habitants du quartier à construire la solidarité paneuropéenne, et plus patriculèrement, dans ce cas, avec les métallurgistes grecs en lutte dépuis 3 mois.
La soirée a eu lieu dans un endroit chaleureux, grâce à l'accueil de Nacho et Claire. Presqu'une centaine d'habitants du quartier sont passés boire un verre, manger des plats faits par les militants du Comité, et discuter sur les luttes en cours et celles à construire. Charis Manolis, du syndicat des métallurgistes nous a dit, en connection Skype, que les métallos grecs en grève depuis 90 jours tiennent bon, aussi grâce à la solidarité qui vient de tous les côtés du monde. Les métallurgistes se déplacent maintenant partout en Grèce pour encourager d'autres travailleurs et les aider à construire et coordoner leurs luttes. Il a aussi transmis un message de soutien aux travailleurs belges pour la grève du 30 janvier, et il nous a assuré que les metallurgistes grecs vont se battre jusqu'à la victoire! Pour le point pratique, 630 euros ont été collectés pour soutenir les grévistes, et ils seront transférés à leur compte bancaire. La soirée a fini avec un petit concert aux rythmes de "rebétiko".

Le 26 novembre 2011, Dora Bakoyiannis (député grecque et leader du parti libéral Coalition Démocratique) et Yiannis Pretenderis (journaliste et opinion maker grec) ont été invités au Forum du journal Libération, à une table ronde sur la Grèce. Des étudiants et travailleurs grecs résidants à Lyon, ont intervenu à la conférence.
De même, le 30 novembre 2011, des grecs résidant à Berlin, ont intervenu à un événement organisé par l'Association de la Communauté grecque de Berlin, auquel des députés ont été invités.
Aussi, le 16 décembre, Real Democracy Now - Berlin/GR intervient lors de la participation de Thodoros Pangkalos, vice-président du gouvernement grec, à la Conférence "Diplomatie Culturelle".
L'intervention s'inscrit dans le cadre de la solidarité avec les grévistes des Aciéries grecques.

They have even started selling – at any price – all public property that can be sold for this reason. They are even ready to give their lives for your vision. They no longer need health care. Paying loan interests is much more important. So they shut down hospitals. And they prefer suicide instead. Suicide rate in Greece has increased 40%.
Some would say that the Greeks deserve what came upon them. We couldn’t agree more. That’s why we would like to thank you, for making us pay our debts instead of paying for our own decent survival. Le 23 octobre, à propos du Sommet européen qui aurait trouvé une solution pour le "problème grec" et la crise de la zone euro, l'Initiative de Solidarité, les Indignés grecs et les Indignés belges ont organisé un "accueil" au Premier Ministre grec qui, à l'instar des mobilisations importantes en Gréce, le 19 et 20 octobre, lors de la grève générale.

Χτες, 11 Οκτωβρίου, η Ελληνική Κοινότητα Βρυξελλών οργάνωσε εκδήλωση με καλεσμένους ευρωβουλευτές, με στόχο να παρουσιάσουν την Ευρωπαϊκή Οικονομική Διακυβέρνηση, που στο τέλος Σεπτεμβρίου υπερψηφίστηκε από το Ευρωκοινοβούλιο, και τις θέσεις των κομμάτων τους σχετικά.
Στην εκδήλωση παραβρέθηκαν, κατά σειρά εμφάνισης, ο Γιώργος Τούσσας από το ΚΚΕ, ο Νίκος Χουντής από το ΣΥΡΙΖΑ, ο Μιχάλης Τρεμόπουλος από τους Οικολόγους και, αφιχθής με αρκετή καθυστέρηση, ο Γιώργος Παπανικολάου από τη ΝΔ. Το δρόμο για την εκδήλωση δεν βρήκαν οι κυβερνητικές δυνάμεις, δηλαδή η Συλβάνα Ράπτη και ο Σπύρος Δανέλλης από το ΠΑΣΟΚ, και ο Νίκος Σαλαβράκος από το ΛΑΟΣ.
Στα πλαίσια των ερωτήσεων/παρεμβάσεων που ακολούθησαν τις τοποθετήσεις των Ευρωβουλευτών, η Πρωτοβουλία Αλληλεγγύης στην Ελλάδα που αντιστέκεται, εκπροσωπόντας την Ένωση Αγανακτισμένων Βιομηχάνων, συνεχάρη τις κυβερνητικές δυνάμεις για το μέχρι τώρα έργο τους και για τα μέτρα που "είναι προς τη σωστή κατεύθυνση", δήλωσε την ικανοποίησή της για την εξοικονόμηση χρημάτων, τις σωστές περικοπές και τη δίκαιη φορολόγηση της μπουγάτσας, αλλά τόνισε πως χρειάζονται κι άλλα μέτρα προκειμένου να καταργηθούν επιτέλους οι διαδηλώσεις και οι απεργίες και παρότρυνε την Κυβέρνηση να προμηθευτεί περισσότερα χημικά και να τολμήσει να συγκρουστεί επιτέλους με τις δυνάμεις της συντήρησης.
Καταλήγοντας, η Πρωτοβουλία σκόπευε να προσφέρει στον εκπρόσωπο του ΠΑΣΟΚ ένα ελικόπτερο, με το σκεπτικό πως σύντομα η Κυβέρνηση θα το χρειαστεί. 'Ομως, οι δυνάμεις τάξης και ασφαλείας της αίθουσας παρεμπόδισαν σθεναρά την δαρμένη και πασαλειμένη με μααλόξ διαδηλώτρια που μετέφερε το ελικόπτερο.
The Brussels Solidarity Initiative to the Greek people held a protest action against the anti-social measures imposed toto the Greek peopleby the Greek government, the EU and the IMF.
The political groups of theSocial-Democrats and the Liberals jointlyorganised an event about the "2500+1 years from the Marathon battle'' in the European Parliament on 23 March 2011. The event was addressed by the ex-President of the Parliament, Hans-Gert Pöterring, the Greek Socialist MEP Chryssoula Paliadeli, the German Liberal MEP Jorgo Chatzimarkakis and the Greek Minister for Culture, Pavlos Geroulanos. Maria Damanaki, the Greek Commissioner was also present in the room.
The speakers said they were ''very thankful to Greece for the so many things the country has offered to civilization and democracy", and also for "stopping the barbarians and hence marking the borders of Europe". Neoliberal hard-liner, Jorgo Chatzimarkakis also pointed out how much "he supported Greece to the German public opinion" while his party was pushing for even harsher austerity measures against the Greek people.
One member of the Solidarity Initiative requested the flour for 3 minutes, after the speeches were over and before the film was about to start. Chryssoula Paliadeli, the host of the event, refused refused to open the speech to the floor and ordered the projection to start.
Member of the Solidarity Initiative insisted to make an intervention and unfolded a banner with the slogan "ΕU – IMF barbarians listen up, Peoples of Europe are rising up".

"2,500 year after and 20km from Marathon's battlefield, the modern Greeks are waging a battle today.This is the inhabitants of the village of Keratea that they fight some modern barbarians.
These modern barbarians, they are not from Asia.They are from Greece.It is the police of the Greek statesent by the socialdemocratic Greek Governmentto defend an illegal decision,the decision to build an illegal dumpin Keratea,that will destroy archeological sites.This is how this government defends Greek culture.
The policement sent by the Greek government enter into house yards.They curse on women.
They tear gas normal working peopleand they behave as an occupation forcein Greece.
They fight of these people,the struggle of people of Kerateais the symbol of the struggle of all the working people in Greece,a symbol besides the three hundred immigrants,the 300 immigrant workers that wonand they dedicated their victory to the entire working classof Greece.

Η Πρωτοβουλία Αλληλεγγύης στην Ελλάδα που Αντιστέκεται Βρυξελλών πραγματοποίησε παράσταση διαμαρτυρίας ενάντια στα μέτρα Κυβέρνησης – ΕΕ – ΔΝΤ ενάντια στον ελληνικό λαό.
Οι πολιτικές ομάδες των Σοσιαλδημοκρατών και των Φιλελεύθερων διοργάνωσαν στο Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο από κοινού εκδήλωση για «τα 2,500 + 1 χρόνια από τη μάχη του Μαραθώνα» με ομιλητές τον πρώην πρόεδρο του Ευρωκοινοβουλίου Χανς – Γκερτ Πότερινγκ, την ευρωβουλευτή του ΠΑΣΟΚ Χρυσούλα Παλιαδέλη, το Γερμανό Φιλελεύθερο ευρωβουλευτή Γιώργο Χατζημαρκάκη και τον υπουργό πολιτισμού Π. Γερουλάνο. Στη γεμάτη κόσμο αίθουσα, βρισκόταν επίσης η Ευρωπαία Επίτροπος Μαρία Δαμανάκη.
Οι ομιλητές κινήθηκαν σε ένα πνεύμα ευχαριστιών προς την Ελλάδα που «τόσα έχει προσφέρει στον ευρωπαϊκό πολιτισμό και τη δημοκρατία» αλλά και για «το σταμήτημα της προέλασης των βαρβάρων και την οριοθέτηση της Ευρώπης. Ο ακραίος νεοφιλελεύθερος Χατζημαρκάκης μας εξήγησε επίσης «πόσο στήριξε την Ελλάδα στο γερμανικό κοινό» ενώ το κόμμα του πίεζε για ακόμα πιο σκληρά αντιλαϊκά μέτρα κ.α.
Μέλος της Πρωτοβουλίας ζήτησε μετά τις ομιλίες και πριν την προβολη ταινίας να παρέμβει για τρία λεπτά. Η συντονίστρια Χ. Παλιαδέλη αρνήθηκε και ζήτησε την εκκίνηση της ταινίας.
Η πρωτοβουλία συνέχισε την παρέμβαση της και άνοιξε πανώ που ανέγραφε στα αγγλικά: «Βάρβαροι τηςEEκαι του ΔΝΤ ακούστε το καλά, οι λαοί της Ευρώπης ξεσηκώνονται ξανά».(ΕU – IMF barbarians listen up, Peoples of Europe are rising up).
Ακολουθεί το περιεχόμενο της παρέμβαση μεταφρασμένο στα ελληνικά. Κατά τη διάρκεια της παρέμβασης η πρώην υπουργός Κ. Μπατζελή δε σταμάτησε να συμπεριφέρεται σα να βρισκόταν σε τηλεπαράθυρο, εκτοξεύοντας προσβολές και ειρωνικά «μπράβο» προς τον ομιλητή και τα μέλη της Πρωτοβουλίας.
«2.500 χρόνια μετά τη μάχη του Μαραθώνα και 20 μόλις χιλιόμετρα από το τόπο της μάχης οι σύγχρονοι Έλληνες δίνουν μια άλλη μάχη.
Πρόκειται για τους κατοίκους της Κερατέας που παλεύουν ενάντια στους σύχρονους βαρβάρους. Αυτοί οι σύγχρονοι βάρβαροι δεν είναι από την Ασία, είναι από την Ελλάδα.
Είναι η αστυνομία του ελληνικού κράτους που την έχει στείλει εκεί η ελληνική σοσιαλδημοκρατική κυβέρνηση για να υπερασπιστεί μια παράνομη απόφαση.
Την απόφαση να δημιουργηθεί μία χωματερή στην Κερατέα που θα καταστρέψει αρχαιολογικό χώρο. Να πώς προστατεύει αυτή η κυβέρνηση τον ελληνικό πολιτισμό. Οι αστυνομικές δυνάμεις της κυβέρνησης μπαίνουν στις αυλές των σπιτιών, βρίζουν γυναίκες, ψεκάζουν με χημικά απλούς εργαζόμενους ανθρώπους και συμπεριφέρονται σα δυνάμεις κατοχής.
Ο αγώνας των κατοίκων της Κερατέας είναι ένα σύμβολο της πάλης όλων των εργαζόμενων στην Ελλάδα.
Ένα σύμβολο δίπλα και σε εκείνο, των 300 μεταναστών απεργών πείνας που νίκησαν και αφιέρωσαν τη νίκη τους σε ολόκληρη την εργατική τάξη της Ελλάδας.
Είναι αλληλέγγυοι στις εννιά γενικές απεργίες που έχουν γίνει ενάντια στις παράλογες πολιτικές του ΔΝΤ, της ΕΕ και της ελληνικής κυβέρνησης.
Οι σύγχρονοι βάρβαροι είναι οι Ευρωβουλευτές που ψηφίζουν αυτά τα μέτρα, η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή, το ΔΝΤ, η Ευρωπαϊκή Κεντρική Τράπεζα που καταργούν τη δημοκρατία με την «Νέα Οικονομική Διακυβέρνηση» που θέτει τους κρατικούς προϋπολογισμούς υπό τον έλεγχο ενός μη εκλεγμένου οργανισμού, της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής.
Δε θα επικρατήσετε. Αυτή η κρίση δε θα ναι οι Θερμοπύλες του εργαζόμενου λαού αλλά το δικό σας Βατερλώ. »
